]]>Our Firefly 2.5 comes equipped with two "kickstands" - rigid legs that attach to the unit and allow it to stand upright when removed from your wheelchair. These kickstands make it easier to attach and remove the Firefly from your wheelchair and help keep it from falling over and possibly getting damaged.
Here is Abdul going to Pebble Beach for a Golf tournament and touring the Vegas strip on his new Firefly 2.5.

Shout out to Ki Mobility www.kimobility.com for letting us borrow a really nice Titanium folding wheelchair. Many customers contact us with questions on which folding chairs work well with our products. We have to say the Ki Mobility - Catalyst 5 with swing-away footrests works the best!

]]>Well, the 2020 LA Abilities Expo has come and gone and here are some things that caught our eye….
Firstly, we would like to thank our new dealer in the greater Los Angeles area,
"Call Before You Fall" located at:
18310 Oxnard St,
Tarzana, CA 91356
Contact Alex Katz (818) 290-9651
They are fully stocked and mobile so contact them today for a quote and a trial demo!!!
As always, Saturday was the most attended and possibly the most crowed we have seen to date! Always encouraging to see such interest in this industry and to get the word out about electric mobility.
Matia Robotics continues to create and innovate such interesting products
We also had a chance to speak with VESCO wheelchairs located at:
2425 Fenton St.
Chula Vista, CA 91914
Contact Troy McGuirk (619) 319-1496
www.vmcrugbychairs.com
They specialize in custom cut wheelchairs MANUFACTURED RIGHT IN SAN DIEGO!!!!
We often receive requests from people who want to buy a wheelchair to fit the Firefly, Dragonfly or eDragonfly and Vesco now offers a custom fit alternative to the usual manufactures out there. Give them a look and call for a consultation.
Of course no expo would be complete without a show from the Rollettes.
And these are some bad a@# rollers!
This rolling and transfer chair seems to offer an ultra-lightweight solution.
The Yamaha power assist Navi-One wheels, expensive but nice.
Now this was a new one for me at least, haven't seen mini-services horses before but apparently they are being allowed on airplanes now.
]]>For the past 6 years Rio Mobility has contracted a small team to live half-time or more in China to facilitate our orders. From procurement to mold making, tooling and assembly an American team member has been there every step of the way ensuring a consistent and quality product.
That being said, this winter a member of the Rio team was in China facilitating some new molds and new prototypes. The virus outbreak happened during this time and our staff was put on home self-quarantine (like millions of other households in China.) That basically means, only one family member is allowed out of their house, once a day for short periods of time to buy supplies. Luckily, Walmart has one of the best food supply chains in Changzhou, China so lack of food and essential supplies have not been an issue. Temperature checks and face masks are obligatory now and a way of life.
This has disrupted the Chinese supply chain as migrant factory workers are not allowed to travel inter-Provence to return to work. Luckily, our team and everyone we know in Jiangsu, China is still healthy and is continuing to work tirelessly to get the product supply chain back on track.

It is the customer's choice to position the light angle to "see" or to "be seen." Basically, if you point the light angled "down" you can "see" the road in front of you more clearly but automotive drivers will have a more difficult time seeing you. If you point the light "up" you will "be seen" more easily by drivers but you will not see the road and terrain in-front of you as clearly.
This is a compromise we feel no powered wheelchair user should have to make. Rio Mobility is prototyping a powerful 10 Lux, Dual-Light-System or (DLS) which can be used to both "see" and "be seen." This is an industry first and a much needed upgrade to power wheelchair attachments.
For American customers (where the automotive traffic drives on the right side) we suggest pointing the "left" light "up" at driver's sight-line and the "right" light "down" towards the road. For European customers (where the automotive traffic drives on the left side) we suggest pointing the "right" light "up" at driver's sight-line and the "left" light "down" towards the road.
This feature is still in the early prototype stages so check back soon for more details.....
Come by for a test ride! We are here most weekdays (except major holidays) during normal business hours but best to call first to make sure: 415-552-6277.
